“Listen to your inner genius, those who often do, end up changing the world.”
Having a lot of success initially in Louisiana with my theater plays back in 97′ & 98′, I decided to move my plays out to Los Angeles. So in 99′ I moved out to LA and immediately rented a venue with ALL of the money I had saved up. I didn’t know anyone out in LA and nor did I know anything about marketing a play. So I did NO MARKETING and of course it flopped. So I ended up broke, even at one point was pretty much homeless for 3 weeks. So I truly fell on my butt. I ended up get 3 jobs to try to build things back up. I started visiting other venues and plays to see how they were marketing and that’s how I began to turn it all around and learned to market my plays.
Entrepreneurial AH-HA Moment
After writing a play, a true story about my ancestors back home in Lafayette, LA. I realized after getting so many rave reviews that I should tell stories from the past. People truly fascinated about them. That’s when I had my “Ah-Ha” moment.
