Marc Nelson is an American singer, song writer, pianist, and musician. His mother was the late R&B/Dance singer Phyllis Nelson, known for the songs “I Like You” and “Move Closer”. Marc was an original member of Boyz II Men. He attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, in Pennsylvania.
After Boys II Men, Marc went on to have a successful solo career with several of his hits climbing the R&B Charts. Following the release of his solo album, Marc began concentrating his talents as a songwriter. Drawing the attention of Babyface! Marc wrote for artists like Toni Braxton, Brandy, Tamia, Tyrese, and Jon B. Through Babyface, Marc met the four members of the group Az Yet and was added to the line-up as second lead vocalist, being signed to LaFace Records. The group’s self-titled debut album, that released in 1996, went platinum. With several singles on that album, like “Last Night”, went gold and reached #1 and their second single, “Hard To Say I’m Sorry” did even better, going platinum and reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. TODAY Marc continues singing, writing & performing, blessing us with that smooth silky R & B sound.
